Tivon has a guard Turkey and has called him Argus. I say guard turkey because he seems to know who is in the family and performs fantastic feather displays and a blue face for visitors! We have a bit to learn about turkey behavior! Turkey was never on my wish list of homestead essentials but he is a real character.

Argus like to perch on the byre in the evening.

We only had one chick this year! The magpie was stealing the eggs from the broody hens and we didn't realize! I was SO happy to have one chick though!

  The hens are so full of personality.

This years weaners, Shadow and Spring, came in May.

Alfie is very comfortable around the pigs and as long as they are busy with their dinner they are not too interested in him. He is facinated with their curly tales and keeps trying to straighten them!

The Belfast sink has been used as a spare water drinker since then but I have plans now to use it to make a solar wax melter for the bees wax.
