December skies
Record breaking December weather!
Rain 317mm so far, that is 3 TIMES the average rainfall for December.
It has been the wettest month in our records. The previous record was 226mm during Nov 2002.
There were 30 rain days this December! That is the most in our records, February will never have a chance now! (A rain day at least 0.2mm rainfall)
Mean temperature 8.9 deg C, average temperature for December is 6.6 deg C.
That is 2.3 deg C above average, The highest deviation above average for any month.
Dullest month in our records! Just over 35 hours (recording sunshine here since 2004).
It has been windy too, a gust of 65mph on the 30th.

November Skies.
November was a windy month with a gust of 66mph on the 17th.
It was the dullest November we have recorded here (sunshine records began in 2004). We had 52 hours of sunshine, average being 78 hours for November.
It was the warmest November on our records. The 30 year mean temperature for here in November is 8.2 deg C This November we recorded a mean of 9.9 deg C.

September weather.
The average temperature here for September over the last 15 years has been 13.7 deg C.
This Septembers average was a fair bit cooler at 12.4 deg. C.
Despite one wet day with 36mm the overall rainfall for the month of 56mm was below normal. Sunshine has been average.

April Sky
April has been dry, sunny and cool. There has been 23 nights of frost including an air frost of -1.6 deg C and ground frost of -8.6 deg C on the 26th.

March Sky
Average temperature for March was 1 deg C below normal. There were a couple of windy days at the end of the month including a gust of 59 mph.
The Solar eclipse on March 20th was just visible through the clouds.

Overall a mild month with a couple of days of very cold weather at the end of December.

November sky.
The first 3 weeks of November was rain, rain, rain, interspersed with sunny spells. We had 209mm altogether (twice the average for the month), while the last 9 days have been dry, with a mix of mild overcast days and clear sunny days. We had 23 nights of grass frost, which makes it our frostiest November so far. Temperatures were average for the month.

A warm, sunny, calm and dry month.
September has been the driest month here since Angus started recording in 1999, it was also the calmest. The month started off cooler than average but the latter half of the month was mild.
Today my thoughts are with my sister Lesley, she is having a big operation right now.

Wet and cool this August.
Wettest and 2nd coldest August here since we started recording in 2000. Duller than average, overall a huge contrast to July. A very autumnal feel to the month.

July sky
July was wetter than average, we had one thunder storm that dropped 38mm in less than an hour. However June was a dry month and the heavy showers in July only wet the top couple of centimetres of the soil.
This July was one of our warmest with similar average temperatures to last July.

Hay making weather.
This has been the sunniest and driest June here since 2006, with rainfall half the average for June. Warmer than average and calm.

Several days this month had the feeling of summer but there was just enough cloud to keep frosts away. This has been the warmest May that Angus has recorded (recording since 2000). However recorded hours of Sunshine were way below nomal at 125 hours. The previous lowest sunshine for May was 170 hours (in our 10 year records) Last May had 232 hours.

February sky
February had over 200mm (almost 8") of rain. While December had 142mm (5.5") and January 180mm (over 7"). That is more than 500mm (more than 20inches) this winter!
It was also a very windy month with a gust of 63 miles an hour and on 20 days there was at least 1 gale gust (39 mph). Temperatures were average.

On December 27th Angus recorded a gust of 59mph, strongest since January 2009. It has been the wettest December here since 2002. On December 23rd and 27th the barometric pressure fell to 963.
Overall a mild, wet, windy month.
